The names of the semi-finalists have been clarified at the World Boxing Championship held in Liverpool, England.
Idman.biz reports that, following Alfonso Dominguez, Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) also completed the 1/4 final stage with a victory as part of the Azerbaijani national team.
Our boxer faced Pavlo Illiusha (Ukraine) on the way to the semi-finals. Jafarov won against his opponent with a score of 5:0 (29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28). Thanks to this victory, Saidjamshid also secured at least a bronze medal for himself.
Saidjamshid will fight against Fazliddin Erkinboyev from Uzbekistan in the semi-finals. The meeting will take place on September 12. On the same day, Alfonso Dominguez's opponent will be Santos Ribeiro Filho from Brazil.
Note that today is a day of rest at the World Championship. The World Cup will conclude on September 14.
