The referee who unfairly acted against our boxer at the European Schoolboys Boxing Championship held in Serbia last month has not gone unpunished.
Idman.biz reports that, in response to the protest letter addressed by the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation to the International Boxing Association (IBA) regarding this matter, as well as the work it has done to protect the rights of our athlete, referee Stefan Subalevski will be deprived of his referee title for life.
IBA President Umar Kremlyov shared a post about this on his personal social network account.
In his video message, he stated that the referee should not have allowed arbitrariness in the fight of Yusif Agakishiyev (75 kg), a member of the Azerbaijani national team, at the European Schoolboys Championship: "This is both the IBA's call and the boxing family's desire for clean boxing. Those who violate sports values should not be there. Neither in the IBA nor in sports. Thus, we are seriously preventing such cases."
U.Kremlyov emphasized that the referee who controlled the fight will be removed from boxing for life: "I support the boxer's coach. But his actions are also not correct, it should not be like this. There are special bodies that make decisions for this - disciplinary and ethics commissions. The referee, on the other hand, must be removed for life."
It should be noted that in the final match between Yusif Agakishiyev, who competed in the 75 kg weight category at the European Championship among schoolboys in Zlatibor, Serbia, and local Viktor Maystrovich, our boxer's championship was taken away. Stefan Subalevski, the chief referee of the match from North Macedonia, made biased decisions in favor of the opponent, and the victory was given to the Serbian athlete in the prematurely stopped match.
