Another of our boxers has won a medal at the European Youth Championship held in Novi Pazar, Serbia. Sport24.az reports with reference to the press service of the Boxing Federation that Safdar Mammadzadeh (+80 kg) faced Russian Bogdan Smolkin in the final.
Since the match ended with the opponent's victory with a score of 3:2 (26:30, 28*:28, 28*:28, 26:30, 29:27), our boxer had to settle for a silver medal.
With this, our team finished the European Championship with 1 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals. With this indicator, the national team took 3rd place in the team standings.
It should be noted that Amina Taghi (50 kg) previously won the title of European champion. Jamila Muradli (52 kg), Fidan Bakarova (63 kg), Sama Abbasova (66 kg) won silver medals, Gardash Rahimov (46 kg), Muhammad Rasulov (50 kg), Raul Heydarli (54 kg), Shahin Aslanov (60 kg), Hagverdi Hasanov (63 kg), Aylin Nazarova (46 kg), Gular Huseynova (48 kg) and Zahra Mammadova (54 kg) won bronze medals.
