The European Boxing Championship among boxers under 19 has started in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Idman.biz reports that two athletes of the Azerbaijani national team, who entered the ring on the first day of the competition, finished their fights with a victory.
Rza Rzayev in 70 kg faced Gleb Herdt (Israel). The boxer defeated his opponent 5:0 (30:26, 30:25, 30:27, 30:26, 30:26) in the 1/16 final. He will face Akaki Basariya (Georgia), who was exempted from the first stage, in the next match.
Abbasgulu Shadlinski (75 kg) also started the European Championship with a victory. He was stronger than Gerasimos Tzavaros (Greece) in the 1/16 final – 5:0 (29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27). Shadlinski will test Ahmed Koçini (Albania), who was exempted from the first stage, in his second fight.
Both of our boxers will enter the 1/8 final fight on October 2.
It should be noted that the European Championship will end on October 9.
