The Azerbaijani national team of U-15 boys' boxers reaped the rewards of their training camps at the European Championship.
This was stated by the head coach of the team, Vugar Mammadov, in his statement to "Report".
He assessed the performance of the boxers who won two gold, three silver, and three bronze medals at the U-15 European Championship held in Budva, Montenegro, as follows:
"We prepared very well for the continental championship. We held training camps in Shamakhi and Baku, as well as in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. We saw the results of this in the competition. We finished sixth in the team standings. The number of our medals could have been higher. Some of our boxers lacked experience as they were competing in the European Championship for the first time. We will try to achieve better results in the next competitions and raise the name of our country to higher peaks."
It should be noted that one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals were won by the boys, while one gold and one silver were won by the girls.
