Azerbaijan's Kyokushin national team has won 2 medals at the World Cup held in the Bulgarian cities of Varna and Kamchia. Sport24.az reports that our athletes achieved this success in the preliminary stage of the competition, which started on July 6.
Seljan Babayeva (16-17 years old, +65 kg) won a gold medal, and Javid Kazimli (16-17 years old, +75 kg) won a silver medal.
Azerbaijan is represented at the competition by a total of 19 athletes. 14 of them (in Kyokushin karate) have already joined the fight, and 5 athletes will participate in the "SENSHI" competitions among adults. Their performances will take place in the coming days.
Our team participates in the competition, which is attended by teams from official representative offices of the World Kyokushin Union in 37 countries, under the leadership of Gabil Sayadov, the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, and the representative for "KWU-SENSHI".
