Our boxer Amina Taghi has become the European champion. Sport24.az reports that the athlete, competing in the 50 kg weight category, achieved this success at the European Youth Championship held in Serbia.
Amina defeated Armenian Amest Afrikian in the decisive match. She won against her opponent with a score of 4:1 (29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 27:30, 30:27) and won the "gold".
Our other boxers Jamila Muradli (52 kg), Fidan Bakarova (63 kg), Sama Abbasova (66 kg) won silver medals, while Aylin Nazarova (46 kg), Gular Huseynova (48 kg) and Zahra Mammadova (54 kg) won bronze medals.
Our national team, consisting of girls, finished the European Championship with 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
In the boys' competition, Safdar Mammadzadeh (+80 kg) made it to the final. He defeated Belarusian Kirill Zhukovsky with a full advantage in the semi-final. Mammadzadeh will fight Russian Bogdan Smolkin in the decisive match.
It should be noted that, earlier, our male boxers Gardash Rahimov (46 kg), Mahammad Rasulov (50 kg), Raul Heydarli (54 kg), Shahin Aslanov (60 kg) and Hagverdi Hasanov (63 kg) won bronze medals.
