Former UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal believes that if star footballer Lionel Messi had engaged in mixed martial arts, he could have succeeded in this field.
Idman.biz reports that Masvidal said this in a statement to "Sports Business Journal".
According to the athlete, the Argentine footballer has the physical attributes and discipline that would allow him to perform in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts - ed.).
Jorge added that Messi is a phenomenal athlete: "He is one of the most disciplined people who has ever lived in this world. The physique is great, but fighting is something else. With the physical abilities that God has given him and his way of thinking, I am sure that if he took this seriously and devoted enough time, he could show a lot".
