Former world champion in six weight divisions, Manny Pacquiao, has been appointed Vice President of the International Boxing Association (IBA).
According to Idman.Biz, citing the organization's press service, the decision was approved at a board meeting held in Manila.
In his speech, Pacquiao stated his intention to contribute to the development of boxing worldwide: "Under the inspiring leadership of President Umar Kremlev, the IBA has entered a Golden Age - an era where every boxer, regardless of country or level, can dream and win. I am proud to join this mission to ensure that no young athlete is left unsupported and no nation feels left out. Boxing has the power to unite people in a way that politics cannot."
