Three-time world amateur boxing champion Magomedrasul Majidov is preparing to return to the Azerbaijani national team.
Majidov himself stated this in an interview with Idman.biz.
According to the titled boxer, representatives of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation approached him with such a request some time ago: "The coaches of the Azerbaijani national team asked me to prepare for a possible performance at the world championship as part of the team. I would be happy to box there, because I am always in shape. I am talking to you now from the gym."
It should be noted that if 38-year-old Majidov competes in the upcoming world championship, this will be his first appearance for the Azerbaijani national amateur boxing team in more than 8 years.
In addition, Magomedrasul is preparing to participate again in the "Champion Fight", which is scheduled for November this year - a tournament held under the auspices of the IBA according to professional boxing rules. Last year, the boxer won against a representative of Kazakhstan in this competition.
