Javier Mendez, founder of the AKA gym, former coach of Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, former UFC lightweight champion and UFC Hall of Famer, said that his protégé once refused to fight American Floyd Mayweather, a former world boxing champion in five weight divisions.
Idman.biz reports that the coach is unaware of the other side's, namely Mayweather's, attitude to this offer.
"Khabib received an offer to fight Floyd Mayweather for big money, but he refused. He was offered it. But I don't know if Floyd would accept the offer, or if Khabib even knew about it. He refused, I can't say whether Floyd himself knew about it," Mendes said.
