Islam Makhachev, the 34-year-old former UFC lightweight champion from Russia, spoke about the cost of renting an apartment in New York City.
Idman.Biz reports that Makhachev is preparing for the "UFC 322" tournament in this city.
"The owners of this house probably live there for only one month a year. They rent it out for the rest of the time. People like us probably come for a few weeks and rent from them. To be honest, the rent is very expensive. I have never seen rent so expensive anywhere in the world. It's expensive in California, and here too," Makhachev said on his Telegram channel.
"UFC 322" will be held on the night of November 15-16 at "Madison Square Garden" in New York City. Makhachev will compete in the main event of the evening. The Russian will face Australian Jack Della Maddalena for the title. They will fight for the welterweight (up to 77 kg) belt.
