Ilia Topuria, the current UFC featherweight champion and Georgian-Spanish mixed martial artist, has stated that he advised his compatriot Merab Dvalishvili to move up in weight class to try and win a second title.
İdman.Biz reports that, according to Topuria, Dvalishvili has every chance of succeeding against Australian Alexander Volkanovski, the two-time UFC featherweight champion.
"Championship Rounds" quoted Topuria as saying: "I told Merab that he needs to move up in weight because he can 100% win a second belt. As for the fight with Volkanovski, I have no doubt about the outcome - I am sure that Merab will win".
