Boxing competitions have started at the III CIS Games hosted by Azerbaijan. 3 athletes of our national team started the tournament held at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex with a victory.
Our boxer Aysel Farajova (46 kg) faced Aleksandra Kutsikova (Belarus) in the 1/4 final. She defeated her opponent with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:26, 30:26). By advancing to the semi-finals, Farajova also secured at least a bronze medal for herself. The national team member will hold her next meeting on October 2 against Rukshonabonu Ahadova (Uzbekistan).
Jamila Muradli (54 kg) also made it to the semi-finals. Our boxer defeated Nigora Yusupova (Tajikistan) with a complete advantage in the first round at the start. Muradli, who secured at least a bronze medal for herself, will face Adelayda Sadvakassova (Kazakhstan) on the way to the final. The fight will take place on October 2.
Hagverdi Hasanov in the 63 kg weight category was stronger than Bahdan Shashlikov (Belarus) in the 1/4 final. He defeated his opponent with a score of 3:2 (28:29, 29:28, 30:27, 28:29, 30:27). By advancing to the semi-finals, our boxer, who secured at least a bronze medal for himself, will clarify his relationship with David Karababayev (Russia) in this stage of the fight. The meeting will take place on October 3.
