"Today is another sports holiday for us."
Idman.biz reports that this was said by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov in a statement to journalists after the opening of the Southern Regional Boxing Center in Lankaran.
He stated that the commissioning of the next boxing center is a welcome moment: "In general, there are boxing traditions in this zone. A world champion has emerged from here. I think the number of champions will increase even more. Both girls and boys train in the hall. It is from here that athletes who will become national champions and represent us properly in the international arena will emerge in the future."
The Minister also said that they are in close cooperation with all sports federations. He emphasized that the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, also has instructions regarding this: "We want to develop not only boxing, but also other sports in the regions and build new sports facilities."
