In Russia, a coach who beat a young athlete has been sentenced to 1 year and 5 months of corrective labor.

The incident occurred in 2024. A martial arts coach beat a 12-year-old teenager with a plastic pipe during training, due to dissatisfaction. As a result, the athlete suffered injuries to both the leg and the head.
For this reason, the coach has been banned from training minors for a period of 2 years. In addition, he has been sentenced to 1.5 years of corrective labor, with 15 percent of his monthly salary being withheld by the state.
