Azerbaijani boxers finished the U-15 European Championship held in Budva, Montenegro with 8 medals (2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze).
Khumar Jafarli (75 kg) from our team climbed to the highest step of the podium. By defeating Yağmur Eryurtu (Turkey) with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27, 30:27) in the final, she played the Azerbaijani anthem in Budva. This gold medal was remarkable for our country. For the first time in our boxing history, our female athlete won the title of U-15 European Champion.
Her success was repeated by Mehran Rasulov (80 kg). Our boxer, who defeated Sergiy Kotovski (Ukraine) with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27) in the final, was awarded a gold medal. This was Rasulov's 3rd award in European championships in his career. He had previously won a bronze medal twice.
Other boxers Nasrin Abdullazadeh (40 kg), Nurlan Museyibli (66 kg), Yusif Agakishiyev (75 kg) won silver, Onur Gurbanov (42 kg), Eljan Musazade (50 kg) and Erdem Tekin (90 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team took 6th place in the team competition in the competition attended by 369 athletes from 32 countries.
