Azerbaijani athletes performed successfully at the "Grand Bellagio & GFC" international MMA tournament held in Batumi, Georgia.
"Report" informs that Alim Nabiyev, a 7-time world and 3-time European champion in kickboxing, originally from Azerbaijan, won his next victory in the tournament.
He won his second victory in his MMA career by knocking out his Turkish opponent Oğuzhan Atak in the first round. A. Nabiyev plans his next fight for the end of the year and aims to compete in the UFC.
Other Azerbaijani fighters also distinguished themselves in the tournament. Tahir Abdullayev, fighting in the heavyweight category, defeated Iranian Siawash Dadras. Elvin Kamilli, who competed in the lightweight category, defeated his Georgian opponent Giorgi Kabulashvili with an early knockout in the first round.
A total of 24 athletes from 10 countries participated in the "Grand Bellagio & GFC" international tournament, which was organized for the third time in Batumi.
