Azerbaijani MMA fighter Javid Rzayev, found guilty of beating a DJ in a nightclub in Engels, Saratov region, has been stripped of his Russian citizenship. Sport24.az reports that RIA Novosti reported this.
According to the prosecutor's office, Rzayev started a fight in one of the clubs in Engels on the night of November 10, 2024. The reason for the conflict was the DJ's refusal to play the music the fighter wanted. During the argument, the athlete inflicted at least 15 blows to the DJ's head and body. On April 14, the court sentenced Rzayev to two years of forced labor with 15 percent of his earnings going to the state. The verdict was not appealed and entered into legal force.
It should be noted that 30-year-old Rzayev has had 6 professional fights, winning 4 and losing 2.
