Azerbaijani karate fighters have won licenses for the World Championship in the qualifying competitions held in Paris with Roman Heydarov (kata), Irina Zaretska (-68 kg - top ranking / without qualification), Madina Sadigova (-55 kg), Turgut Hasanov (-84 kg) and Asiman Gurbanli (+84 kg).

Our national team represented our country under the leadership of Rahman Hatamov, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, and head coach Shahin Atamov.
