The international karate tournament "Kazakhstan Open" was held in Astana.
Idman.bi reports that about 600 athletes from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan participated in the competition.
Azerbaijan was represented at the tournament by the national team of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation and the "Təhsil" Republican Sports Center (RIM PHŞ). Our athletes, who participated in the competition with a large team, showed high fighting spirit and distinguished themselves in various weight categories.
The following results were achieved in the competition: • Valiyev Yusif (12–13 years old, -45 kg) - II place; • Kamilov Fateh (12–13 years old, -40 kg) - II place; • Kamilov Shamo (14–15 years old, +70 kg) - III place; • Imanov Rauf (16–17 years old, -61 kg) - III place; • Musayev Nasimi (16–17 years old, -76 kg) - II place; • Dostuyev Aslan (U21, -67 kg) - I place; • Suleymanov Rashid (U21, -75 kg) - I place; • Shahbazov Fariz (adults, -60 kg) - I place; • Savadov Farid (adults, -60 kg) - III place; • Suleymanov Rashid (adults, -75 kg) - II place; • Jafarli Rumil (adults, +84 kg) - III place; • Sadigova Madina (women, -55 kg) - III place.
In addition, in the team fights among adults, the Azerbaijani team defeated the national team of Kazakhstan and became the winner of the competition.
Anar Mammadov (Ganja city No. 2 UGİŞM PHŞ) and Rustam Akbarov (Jaguar Sports Club / Karate fighters: Kamilov Shamo and Kamilov Fateh) acted as coaches in our team. International referees Jahangir Babayev and Vugar Karimov also participated in the tournament as referees.
Abulfat Garayev, the head coach of "Təhsil" RIM, who led the team, played a special role in the successful completion of the competition.
