The first World Championship among female and male boxers, organized by World Boxing, will start on September 4. According to Sport24.az, the Azerbaijani national team will test its strength in the competition, which will last 11 days in Liverpool, England.
The men's boxing team will compete in the World Cup with a full squad. Head coach Ravshan Khocayev, coaches Nariman Abdullayev and Etibar Abdullayev will give a chance to Subhan Mamedov (50 kg), Nicat Huseynov (55 kg), Mahammadali Gasimzade (60 kg), Zaur Gahramanov (65 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg), Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg), Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg), Surat Garayev (85 kg), Alfonso Dominguez (90 kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) at the World Championship.
In the women's competition, our country will be represented by 1 boxer. Under the leadership of head coach Ilkin Agayev, Aynur Mikayilova (57 kg) will enter the ring.
The Azerbaijani national team, which is leaving for Liverpool today, will return to Baku on September 15.
It should be noted that the draw for the World Championship will be held on September 3. About 500 boxers from more than 60 countries are expected to participate in the competition.
