The Azerbaijan Boxing Federation has released a statement regarding the events in the final bout of the 75 kg weight category between Yusif Agakishiyev and Viktor Maystrovich at the European Schoolboys Boxing Championship in Zlatibor, Serbia.
İdman.biz reports that the federation stated that steps will be taken in accordance with the rules regarding technical director Hamza Avezov, who had a dispute with the head referee of the bout, Stefan Subalevski.
"Due to the fact that technical director Hamza Avezov did not act in accordance with sports ethics in the final bout, steps will be taken regarding him in accordance with the instructions and rules of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation. In the aforementioned fight, the North Macedonian referee Stefan Subalevski, acting biased, prioritizing his personal interests, and committing fraud, deprived our boxer of a clean victory. He deprived him of the championship. In this regard, as a federation, an appeal is being prepared to the relevant international organization to take action against the referee," the statement said.
