The cooperation between the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation (ATF) and the World Taekwondo Federation will continue successfully in the future.
ATF Vice President Hikmat Samadov made a statement to "Report" about this.
He shared his thoughts on participating in the General Assembly of the international organization held in Wuxi, China:
"Important decisions were made at the Assembly regarding the future development of taekwondo, improving management, and creating more favorable conditions for athletes. Within the framework of the Assembly, elections were held for the governing bodies of the World Taekwondo Federation for the next term. Chungwon Choue was re-elected as the president of the organization with a large majority of votes. In addition, new vice presidents and members of the Executive Committee were determined. We believe that the new team will make significant contributions to the global development of taekwondo and the continuation of effective management".
H.Samadov also spoke about the goals of the ATF:
"As the Azerbaijan Taekwondo Federation, our main goal is to actively participate in the implementation of the decisions made, and to further strengthen international cooperation and relations in this area. We hope that our cooperation with the World Taekwondo Federation will continue successfully in the future. As you know, it was also decided at the event that the 2027 World Taekwondo Championships will be held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. This will be a landmark event in terms of Kazakhstan hosting the World Championships for the first time".
