The cause of death of Arif Mammadov, President of the Azerbaijan Karate-Do Federation, has been revealed.

He died in Trabzon, Turkey at the age of 47. A. Mammadov, who suddenly had health problems in Batumi, Georgia, was diagnosed by doctors with pulmonary frostbite. The patient was treated in the hospital for more than three weeks and was in a coma during that time. Then his condition worsened. After that, the patient was evacuated to one of the hospitals in Trabzon, Turkey to continue his treatment. Despite the efforts of the doctors here, it was not possible to save his life.
It should be noted that 47-year-old A. Mammadov was a three-time world and five-time European karate champion. He was the Vice-President for Europe of the World Modern Martial Arts Federation since 2021 and of the Azerbaijan Karate-Do Federation since 2022. In 2014, he was awarded the honorary titles of "Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and in 2015, "Honored Coach of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
