Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling reacted to the words of Russian Umar Nurmagomedov being compared to his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Idman.Biz reports that Sterling noted that the "Young Eagle" (Umar - Ed.) needs one more fight to reclaim his claim to the UFC title.
"I really liked what Umar said in the post-fight interview. He recalled how Khabib came home late at night and then went to training and said, "We are not so dedicated to the job." At that moment I thought: "Thank you, because now you admit that although you want to be like him, you are not the next version of Khabib." It's nice to see your humility.
I really think Umar will be a champion at some point in his career. I still think he needs one more fight before he fights for the title again," Sterling said in a statement to Red Corner MMA on the X social media platform.
