"Azerbaijani boxing will not be left without a gold medal at this competition."
These words were spoken by Agasi Mammadov, a living legend of Azerbaijani boxing and head coach of the national youth team, in an interview with Idman.biz.
He shared his thoughts on the upcoming CIS Games and stated that Azerbaijan will be represented by two teams at the tournament.
"We will participate in all 13 weight categories at the CIS Games. In total, 26 of our boxers will enter the ring, which significantly increases our chances of winning medals. However, it should be taken into account that, in addition to Russia, athletes from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and other strong schools will participate in the tournament. It will be difficult to succeed in such competition. But I am sure that Azerbaijani boxing will not be left without a gold medal in this competition," said the head coach.
Let us remind you that the CIS Games will be held in Azerbaijan from September 28 to October 8.
