Birgül Soltanova (65 kg) defeated Romanian Maria Pantiruya (13:5) and then lost to American Riis Larramendi (4:6) in the quarterfinals. Birgül won against Canadian Miki Roubottom with a "tuş" and won the bronze medal. Thus, our wrestler won a medal at a ranking tournament for the first time in her career.
Nigar Mirzazade (68 kg) lost to Turkish world medalist and two-time European champion Nesrin Baş - 0:10. In Greco-Roman wrestling, the debut of Mohammad Shukurzade (67 kg) was unsuccessful. He lost to Croatian Dominik Etlinger in the 1/8 finals - 0:9.
