A ranking tournament in wrestling is ongoing in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
İdman.Biz reports that on the third day of the competition, three of our wrestlers took to the mat.
Birgül Soltanova (65 kg) defeated Romanian Maria Pantiruya (13:5) and then lost to American Riis Larramendi (4:6) in the quarterfinals. Birgül won against Canadian Miki Roubottom with a "tuş" and won the bronze medal. Thus, our wrestler won a medal at a ranking tournament for the first time in her career.
Nigar Mirzazade (68 kg) lost to Turkish world medalist and two-time European champion Nesrin Baş - 0:10. In Greco-Roman wrestling, the debut of Mohammad Shukurzade (67 kg) was unsuccessful. He lost to Croatian Dominik Etlinger in the 1/8 finals - 0:9.
