The European Wrestling Championship continues in Tirana, the capital of Albania. Sport24.az reports that 8 Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers will compete today.
Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg), Turan Bayramov (74 kg), Arseni Cioyev (86 kg), Ali Tsokayev (92 kg), and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) will join the competition.
Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg) will wrestle Musa Mekhtikhanov (UWW) for the gold medal.
Jabrayil Hajiyev (79 kg) will face the winner of the Rasul Shapiyev (North Macedonia)/Tariel Gafrindashvili (Georgia) pair for the bronze medal.
Rashid Babazade (65 kg) will face Ayub Musayev (Belgium) in the consolation match.
It should be reminded that Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) won gold, Rashad Mammadov (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) won bronze medals from Greco-Roman wrestlers earlier. The Greco-Roman wrestling national team was the first in the standings. Among female wrestlers, Jala Aliyeva (57 kg) and Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) won bronze medals.
