As we have already reported, the match between "Xilasedici" and "Ordu" in the seventh round of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Championship was interrupted.
According to the information we have obtained, the match was stopped in the second set by the game supervisor Zohrab Gozelbayli due to the tension on the field.
The head coaches of both clubs gave statements to Idman.Biz regarding the incident.
Cavid Suleymanov, the head coach of the "Ordu" volleyball club, emphasized that his team was leading 25:20 in the first set and 22:19 in the second set.
"It was at this moment that Zohrab muellim stopped the match, even though we were ready to continue the game. I don't want to dwell on the details of the incident, but we have already appealed to the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation. My relations with the head coach of the opposing team, Jalil Jalilov, are very good, and I am sure that what happened yesterday will not affect these relations in any way. I believe that AVF will make a fair decision regarding this incident," said Cavid Suleymanov.
The statement of Jalil Jalilov, the head coach of the opposing team - "Xilasedici", was as follows:
"Cavid and I are very close friends, and I regret what happened yesterday. I am sure that this incident will not affect either our relationship or the relationship between the volleyball players. We are waiting for the Federation's decision and will accept it in any case."
It should be noted that the meeting held at AVF regarding this incident has been going on for more than 2.5 hours. According to the decision made at the meeting, the issue related to the interrupted "Xilasedici" - "Ordu" match in the VII round of the High League among men was investigated. A meeting was held at AVF regarding the final result of the match held on December 17. According to the decision made at the end of the meeting, the "Xilasedici" team suffered a technical defeat with a score of 0:3 in that match.
