The performance of the Azerbaijani beach volleyball teams at the Universiade, held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, will not be limited to the group stage.
Idman.biz's correspondent, who was sent to Germany, reports that the men's pair Nariman Bayramli - Aykhan Abdullayev and the women's tandem Sabina Alizade - Fidan Ahmadkhanova lost all three games they played in the group.
However, according to the regulations of the competition, all teams continue to compete regardless of the result in the group stage. Only the leading couples play for medals, while the others compete for lower places.
In the stage for 17-24 places, Sabina Alizade and Fidan Ahmadkhanova will face Chilean representatives Marcela and Dana. Nariman Bayramli and Aykhan Abdullayev will face the Romanian couple - Alb and Mureșan in this stage.
