In the 10th round of the Higher League among women's volleyball teams of Azerbaijan, the country's last champion "Azerrail" lost to "Ganja" with a score of 1:3 in a tense match (19:25, 25:21, 19:25, 23:25).
"Azerrail" captain Nayka Benites commented on the team's last game to Idman.Biz:
"It was a difficult game for us. Some players were still not in the squad, so it wasn't easy".
Difficulties and instability are observed in the performances of "Azerrail" this season. According to N. Benites, the alternation of "ups" and "downs" is due to constant injuries and player shortages: "We still haven't been able to fully bring the team together. But our goal remains unchanged – to reach the final".
The Puerto Rican libero has been playing for the team for the second season. She compared the championship season with the current season: "Last season was very different. I think it was easier then because we had all the resources we needed to develop. It was difficult to prepare for this season".
The captain noted that this role requires great responsibility: "Being a captain is not easy. But my teammates help me cope with it".
Naika Benites emphasized that the Azerbaijan championship is at a good level, and also noted the availability of opportunities for development: "I believe that the league can become even better and more attractive for spectators by using its potential. It has great prospects".
It should be noted that the "Azerrail" women's team has been the winner of the last three championships of Azerbaijan.
