Spanish tennis player Rafael Jodar has become the target of harsh criticism on social media for an incident involving a ball girl at Roland Garros.
İdman.Biz reports that the incident came to light after his third-round match against US representative Alex Michelsen. In a short video that circulated, Jodar appears to push the ball girl as he moves off the court, causing her to lose her balance.
Jodar has denied the allegations. The 19-year-old tennis player stated that he did not touch the ball girl and that it was impossible for him to do such a thing. According to him, the episode appeared from the wrong angle, and the girl lost her balance by getting caught on the court cover. However, it is clear that he pushed the girl, and she then lost her balance by getting caught on the court cover.
Notably, Jodar defeated Michelsen in a five-set battle in that match, advancing to the fourth round of Roland Garros.
