Yannik Sinner, ranked first in the world ranking, has become the winner of the Wimbledon tournament for the second time in a row.
Sports.Biz reports that the 24-year-old Italian tennis player met with German representative Alexander Zverev in the final of the men's singles tournament.
The four-set match ended with Sinner's 6:7, 7:6, 6:3, 6:4 victory. The Italian tennis player, who lost the first set in a tie-break, won the next three sets and defended his title.
Thus, Sinner has increased the number of Grand Slam tournaments he has won in his career to five. He achieved this feat at the age of 24. The Italian representative won his first Wimbledon championship last year by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
Zverev, on the other hand, has reached the Wimbledon final for the first time in his career. The German tennis player had previously failed to advance beyond the fourth round of the tournament.
