US cyclist Sepp Kuss faced serious danger during the 20th stage of the Tour de France race.
Sport.Biz reports, citing "L'Équipe", that the member of the "Visma-Lease a Bike" team lost control during a descent and went off the road. Kuss clung to the safety net installed on the edge of the cliff and escaped falling at the last moment.
The incident occurred when the cyclist was leading the stage. He first crashed in a tunnel and then had another accident on the next lap. In the second incident, Kuss went to the edge of the cliff and only the safety net prevented him from facing a more serious consequence.
Kuss continued the race after the incident and finished the stage in third place. Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz, who took advantage of Kuss' accidents, won the stage at the Alpe d'Huez finish.
