Georgian Sports Minister Shalva Gogoladze received members of the Azerbaijani Parliament and held a fruitful exchange of views on deepening cooperation in the field of sports between the two countries.
Idman.biz reports, citing Report.az, that Gogoladze told reporters after the meeting that his first official visit abroad would be to Azerbaijan soon.
During the visit, a number of new projects will be discussed with his Azerbaijani counterpart, which will contribute to further strengthening relations between the two states and peoples.
Gogoladze emphasized that in recent years Azerbaijan has become an important center for international sports competitions and has great experience in this field.
He also noted that Azerbaijani athletes come to Georgia for various sports, and Georgian athletes participate in competitions in Azerbaijan. It is important to increase the number of such meetings to further deepen relations and cooperation.
The Minister added that frequent meetings serve to create closer ties between the two friendly and brotherly peoples.
