Gurban Gurbanov has won the title of Azerbaijani champion for the 11th time as head coach.
QOL.az, referring to the PFL website, reports that the 53-year-old specialist, who won all these titles with "Qarabağ", has updated his record.
He has won these championships in the last 12 years. The 11th title was secured in the 32nd round of the Misli Premier League.
Previously, Gurbanov also went down in history as the architect of "Qarabağ"'s championship in the 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
In general, 11 head coaches have won the gold medal of the Azerbaijani championship. Agaselim Mirjavadov has 5 championships: 1993, 1999/2000, 2000/01, 2004/05, 2006/07.
Kazbek Tuaev (1993/94, 1995/96, 1996/97, 2003/04) four, Mehman Allahverdiyev (1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99) and Boyukagha Hajiyev (2005/06, 2011/12, 2012/13) have each experienced the joy of championship three times.
Ahmad Alasgarov in 1992, Valentin Khodukin in 2007/08, Gyoko Hadzievski in 2008/09, Kakhader Tskhadadze in 2009/10, Arif Asadov in 2010/11 and Samir Abasov in the 2020/21 season celebrated their only championship.
