Azerbaijani triathlete Teymur Farajov has qualified to participate in the Ironman World Championship, which will be held on September 14 in Nice, France.
Idman.biz reports that he secured his place in the prestigious competition thanks to his performance at the European Ironman Championship in Hamburg, Germany.
Farajov set a new record among our triathletes by completing the "iron distance" (3.8 km swim, 180 km road bike, and 42.2 km classic marathon) in 9 hours, 27 minutes, and 22 seconds.
Our triathlete officially secured his participation in the world championship by taking 22nd place in the tournament table among participants aged 40-44.
It should be noted that Teymur Farajov is the first Azerbaijani to qualify for the Ironman World Championship.
