Eid al-Adha is celebrated in Azerbaijan today.
İdman.Biz reports that Eid al-Adha begins on the 10th day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah according to the Hijri calendar every year in the entire Muslim world. This year, the corresponding date falls on May 27 according to the Gregorian calendar.
Today, Eid prayers will be performed in all mosques of the country.
Eid prayer is scheduled for 08.00 in Ajdarbey Mosque and 09.00 in Tazapir Mosque in Baku.
It is possible to sacrifice today and tomorrow in connection with the holiday. Sacrifices will be carried out in accordance with Sharia law under the supervision of religious figures of the Caucasus Muslims Office in places specially designated by the Food Safety Agency in Baku and its surroundings, as well as in the regions of the country.
After Azerbaijan restored its independence, according to the law "On Holidays of the Republic of Azerbaijan" dated October 27, 1992, adopted by the Milli Majlis, Eid al-Adha is celebrated at the state level in Azerbaijan.
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 2, 2025 "On determining the days of Novruz, Ramadan and Eid al-Adha for 2026", May 27 and 28 of this year have been determined as the days of Eid al-Adha.
