The management of Crystal Palace, who lost to Brighton with a score of 0:5 in the English Premier League, has decided to keep head coach Patrick Vieira for now.
İdman.Biz reports, citing "The Guardian", that while club president Steve Parish was considering the option of parting ways with the French expert, he ultimately decided to give him more time to fix the situation.
The London representative, who conceded three goals in the first ten minutes of the match against Brighton, repeated their worst-ever defeat against a principal rival. The team has conceded 17 goals in seven Premier League rounds, which is the worst record in the tournament.
Crystal Palace, currently ranked 14th in the standings, is expected to continue relying on Vieira in their upcoming matches against Beşiktaş in the Europa League and Newcastle in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, the management has made it clear to the head coach that results must improve in the near future.
Relations between Vieira and the club management have been tense since the summer transfer window. This was due to the failure to transfer some of the players the coach requested, as well as questions raised by his decisions regarding the starting lineup and substitutions.
Possible candidates for the Crystal Palace head coach position include Kieran Maccabre and Thomas Frank.
