The National Olympic Committee (NOC) organized a medal presentation ceremony for Azerbaijani athletes Gashim Magomedov and Hasrat Jafarov.
Idman.Biz reports that the medals they won during the "Paris-2024" Summer Olympic Games were replaced with new ones due to wear and tear.
The silver medal of taekwondo athlete Gashim Magomedov and the bronze medal of Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov have been renewed, and new awards were officially presented to both athletes at the ceremony.
It should be noted that significant changes have occurred in the medals of five out of seven of our athletes who won awards at "Paris-2024". Apart from Olympic judo champion Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and freestyle wrestling bronze medalist Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg), the gold medal of Olympic judo champion Zelim Kotsoev (100 kg), the silver medals of taekwondo athlete Gashim Magomedov (58 kg) and boxer Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg), and the bronze medals of Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) have deteriorated in quality.
