A meeting of the IOC Coordination Commission for the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 was held in Dakar, the capital of Senegal.
İdman.biz reports that the list of Olympic venues, divided into three clusters, has finally been approved.
Dakar will host tournaments in swimming, 3x3 basketball, breakdancing, baseball, skateboarding, rugby-7, athletics, boxing, mini-football, weightlifting, tennis, karate, shooting, surfing, rock climbing, field hockey, golf, modern pentathlon and canoeing at various arenas.
The road cycling race will also take place in the historical part of the city. Equestrian sports, archery, badminton, mini-football, fencing, taekwondo, table tennis, wushu, rhythmic gymnastics and judo competitions will be held in the athletes' village in the city of Diamniadio, located around Dakar, as well as in the stadiums located there.
The city of Sali will host tournaments in surfing, rowing, beach volleyball, beach handball, beach wrestling and triathlon.
It should be noted that the Youth Olympic Games 2026 will be held in Senegal from October 31 to November 13 next year. Athletes under the age of 17 will participate in the Games.
