Azerbaijani athletes have started competing at the Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.

In the swimming program, Fatima Alkaramova swam 50 meters butterfly. She showed the second result in the competition she participated in. However, the final indicator will be known after the performances of all participants are completed.
Abdurrahman Rustamov and Ramil Valizadeh will also perform 50 meters butterfly. Said Hamidov will swim 100 meters backstroke. In addition, a 4x100 meter freestyle relay race will be held among men.
In fencing competitions, our athletes also entered the fights in the group stage. Among women, Aynur Guliyeva, Nazila Rahimova and Khadija Hasanli have already had their first matches in the epee category. Among men, Magsud Huseynli, Saleh Mammadov and Murad Akparov will compete in the saber category.
