Young Para taekwondo athlete Amin Aliyev won a bronze medal at the Turkish Open International Para Taekwondo Tournament held in Antalya, Turkey.
Competing in the K44 category in the 63 kg weight class, our Paralympian defeated Ayoub Adouich (Morocco), the bronze medalist of the Paris-2024 Summer Paralympic Games, in the 1/8 finals, and Mehmet Dönmez (Turkey) in the 1/4 finals, advancing to the semifinals.
Our athlete, who advanced to the semi-finals, finished the international tournament, which awards ranking points for the Los Angeles-2028 Summer Paralympic Games, with a bronze medal.

Today, the Turkish Open International Para Taekwondo Tournament will be held in Antalya, Turkey.
Idman.Biz reports that our country will be represented at the tournament by male athletes Sabir Zeynalov (58 kg), Amin Aliyev (63 kg), Amin Shikhaliyev (63 kg), Imamaddin Khalilov (70 kg) and Orkhan Jafarov (80 kg), and female athletes Samaya Hasanova (47 kg) in the K-44 category.
