A South American has won a gold medal for the first time in history at the 2026 Olympic Games. Brazilian alpine skier Lukas Pineyro Broten won the giant slalom in 2:25.0 seconds.
Idman.Biz reports that Swiss Marco Odermatt finished second, 0.58 seconds behind the winner. Another Swiss athlete, Loic Meillard, finished third, 1.17 seconds behind.
