Our young parataekwondo athlete Samaya Hasanova won a bronze medal at the Turkey Open International Para Taekwondo Tournament held in Antalya, Turkey.
Our Paralympian, competing in the K44 category in the 47 kg weight class, defeated Medine Cin (Turkey) in the 1/8 finals and Gül Ekinci (Turkey) in the 1/4 finals to advance to the semifinals.
Our athlete, who advanced to the semifinals, finished the international tournament, which provides rating points for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Paralympic Games, with a bronze medal.

Today, the Turkey Open International Para Taekwondo Tournament will be held in Antalya, Turkey.
Idman.Biz reports that our country will be represented at the tournament by our male athletes Sabir Zeynalov (58 kg), Amin Aliyev (63 kg), Amin Shikhaliyev (63 kg), Imamaddin Khalilov (70 kg) and Orkhan Jafarov (80 kg), and female athlete Samaya Hasanova (47 kg) in the K-44 category.
The tournament provides rating points for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Paralympic Games.
Our national team will be led by head coach Farid Tagizade and senior coach Yashar Safarov at the competition.
