It was difficult to compete in the European Shooting Championship held in Châteauroux, France.
Azerbaijani representative Ruslan Lunyov, who won a silver medal in the tournament, told "Report" about this.
The 36-year-old athlete, who climbed to the second step of the podium in the 25-meter center-fire shooting competition, recalled that he had never returned from previous continental championships without awards:
"I won gold in 2019, bronze in 2021, and silver medals in 2022 and 2024. I don't return from European championships in this discipline without results. This time it was a little difficult to compete. Frankly, I could have done better. I just had a problem with my hand. That's why I couldn't perform the last shots well".
It should be noted that Ruslan Lunyov scored a total of 583 points and 26 inner tens (the most accurate shots closest to the center of the target) in 6 rounds of the competition. With this result, he was second only to Ukrainian representative Pavlo Korostylov. Although both athletes scored the same points, the advantage shown in the last series determined the fate of the gold medal.
