Rashad Abdurrahmanov, who served as the head coach of the Azerbaijani national swimming team for 12 years, has been relieved of his post. More precisely, Rashad Abdurrahmanov has been appointed to another position by the decision of the federation's management.
Idman.Biz reports that this decision of the Swimming Federation has caused a number of rumors. This step, taken immediately after the successful performance of our swimmers at the III CIS Games (our team won two gold, five silver, and six bronze medals - ed.), raises various questions.
So, what is this resignation about? Was there any conflict between the former head coach and the Federation's management?
To find answers to these questions, Idman.Biz contacted Rashad Abdurrahmanov.
"I have no problems with the Federation's management, nor can there be. Because I have been offered another position - the position of advisor in the Federation. I worked in this post for 12 years, and now the management has invited a foreign coach to the national team. I will continue my activity here as an advisor," said R. Abdurrahmanov.
The former head coach of the Azerbaijani national swimming team said that he is very pleased with this decision of the Federation.
"My new position is also directly related to working with the national team - team supervision issues, organization of competitions, all consultations related to the development of the national team are included in this position. Of course, taking into account my experience, I am ready to help as much as I can," added the experienced specialist.
