Azerbaijani swimmer Oqtay Huseynov proudly represented his country by winning a gold medal at the III CIS Games.
Idman.biz, citing "Report," reports that Oqtay Huseynov expressed his satisfaction with this success in a statement to journalists.
"This is the first time an Azerbaijani swimmer has won a gold medal at the CIS Games. I am very happy to have been able to do this. I am happy that I raised the flag of Azerbaijan to the highest level. Before the competition, I was a little hasty, but I was able to overcome this when I started swimming," the athlete said.
It should be noted that Oqtay Huseynov won the 400-meter individual medley race, surpassing all his rivals.
