Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chingiz Huseynzade has called the blood donation campaign a major event.
"Report" reports that he said this in a statement to journalists.
He specifically emphasized the participation of athletes in the campaign organized in the administrative building of the NOC and stated that this is a major event.
"June 14 is International Blood Donor Day. At the same time, the opening of the European Games was 10 years ago. We are holding this campaign on this occasion. As you can see, our most prominent athletes, Olympic champions, and winners of the European Games are participating in the campaign. This is truly a major event for us."
It should be noted that a mass blood donation campaign was organized today with the joint organization of the NOC's support, the Republican Blood Bank under the Ministry of Health, and the Azerbaijan Blood Donation Development Center. NOC officials, athletes, as well as a number of representatives of the sports community and other officials participated in the event. The campaign was held for children suffering from thalassemia.
The campaign "Let's be in solidarity, let's save lives with our blood" is dedicated to June 14 - International Blood Donation Day.
